HE Michael Tan Keng Siong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Cambodia, stated that in the near future, after the global epidemic of Covid-19 has eased, he is confident that there will be many Singaporean investors travel to Cambodia to explore special investment opportunities in the construction, housing and real estate sectors.
This statement was made during a courtesy call and farewell visit at the end of the Ambassador's diplomatic mission in Cambodia with HE Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction on the morning of November 19, 2020 at the office of the Ministry of Land Management.
HE Michael Tan Keng Siong expressed his appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for taking the right measures and succeeding in the fight and prevention of the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ambassador stated that officials at all levels of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Cambodia are very proud to fulfill their mission in Cambodia, which can ensure the safety and freedom of travel and daily work while the people in many countries around the world are fighting the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ambassador thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction for their proud past diplomatic mission.
HE Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, thanked Singaporean Ambassador for asserting Cambodia on the success of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the fight against and prevent the global outbreak of Covid-19 and extend our deepest condolences to the lives of 28 Singaporeans. Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Singapore Red Cross for providing assistance to the Cambodian Red Cross to help flood victims in early October 2020.
Deputy Prime Minister continued that in order to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has given priority to accepting Singaporean construction companies to become construction inspection and certification companies in Cambodia after the sub-decree on the conditions and procedures of Construction inspection and certification has already been approved by the Cabinet.
At the same time, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction will also give priority to construction inspection and certification companies of Singapore and Japan to contract office space at the new office of the Ministry.
Deputy Prime Minister Chea Sophara also expressed his congratulations on the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Singapore and his commitment to further strengthen the relationship with the Embassy of Singapore.
