More than 1 million tourists visit tourist destinations during Pchum Ben day

According to the preliminary report of the Provincial Department of Tourism, tourists who visited tourist destinations across the country for three days from September 16-18, 2020 during the Pchum Ben festival are approximately 1,112,403 people.

Among more than 1 million tourists who visited, there were about 1,105,611 nationals tourists and 6,792 internationals tourists.

Provinces which receive the most tourists include: 1) Battambang province received 134,440 tourists. 2) Siem Reap province received 122,370 tourists. 3) Kampot province received 94,479 tourists. 4) Kampong Chhnang province received 85,597 tourists. 5) Pursat Province received 72,389 tourists. 6) Preah Sihanouk Province received 65,825 tourists. 7) Kep Province received 68,054 tourists. 8) Kandal province received 62,741 tourists.

It is worth noting the following main points: * Although there is a lot of rain in some places in some provinces, but most tourist destinations are still crowded.* Security management is generally good, no problems or disturbances occur significantly.* Challenges that have arisen in the past, especially the management of service fees and waste issues, have been addressed by the Capital and Provincial Unity Command and will be better reduced for this Pchum Ben holiday.* Guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Tourism Safety Rules, especially the regular reminders of Samdech Techo Prime Minister, are carefully implemented in various tourist destinations in accordance with the rules set out in the preparation of thermometers, alcohol, masks and hygiene in the bathroom are mostly followed correctly, and the awareness and participation of tourists is improved.

In addition, local people and the private sector enjoy the influx of tourists at all tourist destinations on the occasion of Pchum Ben (adding to the Khmer New Year holiday last August) with the cost of tourists flowing directly into the local economy.
