Compass Cambodia report - Samdech Techo Hun Sen ordered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to turn Phnom Tamao into a luxury forest and protected forest for permanent protection after issuing an order to cancel all the controversial development projects and replanting luxury trees.

Samdech Techo also ordered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to prepare a Royal Decree setting out the rules to be designated as protected areas.
Samdech has ordered more than 1,000 bodyguards with 113 vehicles to clear the land to replant the trees during the rainy season. So far, 530 hectares of land have been completed and more time is needed.
In addition, Samdech asked all people not to be confused or believe in some biased about the movement of forces in the area of Phnom Tamao, because it is not about the lack of saplings, but what is important is to use a lot of force and machinery in Properly planted seedlings.
On Aug 7, 2022, Samdech Hun Sen canceled all the controversial development projects in Phnom Tamao Zoological Park and Wildlife Rescue Centre.
