Cambodia Compass report, 19th May - According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on 18 May, the construction of National Road 10 connecting Battambang and Koh Kong province was approximately 48.77 percent complete as of mid-May.
HE Bong Bun Hourn, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, announced that construction work is proceeding normally amid the pandemic.
HE Bun Hourn also encouraged construction firms and professional contractors to closely track the construction work and ensure that it adheres to technical requirements in order to ensure long-term use.
The 199-kilometer road connects Battambang province's Samlot district with Koh Kong province's Koh Kong district, passing through Pursat province's Veal Veng district. The project is being built with a total investment of over US$188 million, which includes a Chinese loan and funds from the Cambodian government.
The road construction, which began in March of this year and is expected to be finished in 2023, will take a total of 48 months.
