Compass Cambodia report - As stated on November 1st by PM Hun Sen, "Construction work on Boreys by brand developers in Cambodia is still going as there is purchasing power among Cambodia's wealthy."
The PM went on to say that Cambodians had money to spend. They put their money abroad, but it can no longer be deposited in international banks, and the Banking Association of Cambodia reports that the bank has $37 billion in cash but no borrowers.
Therefore, the wealthiest people today do not have to invest overseas as much as they used to, and by the same time their money is in local banks. For this reason, some individuals purchase a property, some buy and sell for a profit when the price rises.
