The Chinese have pushed up the price of housing in Xigang and the Cambodian government has intervened in the investigation.

The provincial government of Prosseyhano has ordered the establishment of a special working group to start counting the prices of hotels, hotels, resorts and guest rooms in Prosseyhano from 28 this month.

According to the instructions of the Prosseyhano Provincial Government, the working group was headed by Osha, the director of the Prosseyhano Provincial Web Group. Zhou Weidu, deputy director of the Tourism Industry Office, and Jin Songbang, an official of the Prosseyhano Provincial Web Group, were members of the working group.

It is the responsibility of the working group to make statistics on the prices of hotels, inns and resorts throughout the province from 28 th of this month, and then report to the Governor of Prosseyhano for examination and approval.

At the same time, the directive ordered Sihanoukville City and the other three county governments to cooperate well to make the statistical work go smoothly.

Tang Kun, Minister of Tourism, attended the Summary of the First Ecotourism Simulation and Tourism Community Competition in 2018 and the Second Tourism Scenic Spot Simulation Competition on 28 August, saying that the price of Xigang was rising sharply because of the shortage of guest rooms. Generally speaking, as long as the supply of rooms exceeds the demand, room prices will naturally rise. In 2019, 2,000 new rooms will be built to meet the needs of tourists to Prosseyhano Province.

"We should think like this. Everything is going in a good direction, so the price of guest house will not be too expensive in the future. Now about 1400 rooms are rented directly and long-term to foreign guests, most of them are Chinese, which leads to the problem of expensive housing for short-term tourists. At present, we are trying to build more hotels. When there are more hotels, the price will not be too expensive. Like Siem Reap, Siem Reap has a large number of tourists, but the price of the room is not expensive. In the final analysis, it is because there are many hotels in Siem Reap.

It is understood that in early September 2018, Sihanouk received 1.6 million visitors, including 1.1 million domestic visitors, a growth rate of 12%, and nearly 500,000 international visitors, a growth rate of 19%.

The Ministry of Tourism predicts that by 2030, Cambodia will receive more than 15 million international tourists and 13 million domestic tourists. As a result, Cambodia needs 100,000 customers to meet the growth needs of tourists (60% of 5-star and 4-star luxury hotels, equivalent to 60,000 rooms). In Sihanouk, the number of domestic tourists will reach about 2 million, and the number of international tourists will exceed 3 million, so the province needs about 30,000 rooms to meet the needs of tourists (about 20,000 rooms in luxury hotels).
