H.E. Kouch Chamroeun, Governor of Sihanoukville Province, received Benjamin Wohlauer, Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy, to pay a courtesy call on the development of Sihanoukville as well as study the investment potential, which will provide opportunities for the US Investment company  to increases tourism and infrastructure cooperation in Sihanoukville

Wohlaues also stated the main purpose of studying the main potential of Sihanoukville to promote to many American companies that are looking to invest in Cambodia, especially Sihanoukvillen as their special goal.

It should be noted that Sihanoukville currently has the following infrastructure such as  34 roads construction project ready to be completed in the near future and 175 km long coastline. In addition, international deep-sea port for the transportation of more than 70% of the country's exports and imports, and with the support of the Government of Japan, which is building and developing the port from 2020 to 2025, the first step will allow ships with a depth of 9.50 meters docking and the second phase will allow ships to have a depth of 13 meters, continue to the third and fourth steps from 2025 to build a deep-water port to allow ships to have a deep water to dock to reduce shipping costs by sea.

There is an international airport with a runway of 3,200 meters, which allows large aircraft to land and continue to expand the lobby. Aside these, There is an expressway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, which started construction in mid-2019 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022 to reduce congestion and facilitate transportation.
