In the last few years, Cambodia's real estate and construction industry has developed vigorously, attracting many foreign investors to invest in Cambodia.
According to a report released recently by the Ministry of Land Planning and Construction, Cambodia's real estate and construction sector currently attracts investors from 18 countries around the world. China ranks first in terms of total investment, followed by Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Britain, Malaysia, Russia, Canada, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, France, India, the United States, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Cambodia's total construction investment in 2017 exceeded $6.4 billion, providing employment opportunities for about 200,000 residents. There are 230 satellite towns, residential towns and residential construction projects, and 1100 buildings above the 5 floor.
The manager of Cambodian CBRE Company, said that the main reason for attracting foreign investment is that Cambodia has maintained an economic growth rate of about 7% in recent years and the political situation is stable. More importantly, the return on real estate investment in Cambodia is higher than that in other surrounding countries. Cambodia has become an emerging investment market, attracting more and more international investors.
It is understood that Cambodia's investment law allows foreign capital to hold 100% shares, especially in 2010 through the draft law, allowing foreigners to buy more than one floor of real estate, which has become the main driving force for the development of real estate and construction industry.
