Phnom Penh ,the newly revived Asian tiger!

In Phnom Penh, you can see the magnificent Mekong River and elegant buildings, and feel the charming atmosphere and the free social system. Phnom Penh is highly open, economically free, culturally diverse, and developing rapidly with each passing day. With the rise of high-rise buildings and the improvement of transportation facilities, Phnom Penh has become more and more international and prosperous, gradually becoming a national capital.

Traffic aspect.

More than a decade ago, Phnom Penh ,the capital, had only 3 tarmac roads and 4 traffic lights built by China. The roads were full of motorcycles, cars, beepers, and humble rickshaws. Apart from being unsafe, they also caused traffic jams and appeared to be very backward.

Compared with the past, the transportation facilities in Phnom Penh are improving day by day, flights are increasing year by year, and there are many choices in the city, such as buses and taxis. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari and other luxury cars are everywhere in Phnom Penh.

Education aspect.

Phnom Penh's education went through a tortuous process in the past. In the 1970s, because of the war, Phnom Penh's education undertakings were seriously damaged. Almost half of the educational facilities were destroyed in the war. Many teachers died in the war, especially in 1975-1979. Education was almost paralysed. By the end of the 1970s, although there were seven universities in Phnom Penh, there was a shortage of teachers, equipment and funds, and the illiteracy rate was as high as 45.9%.

And now Phnom Penh's education is Cambodia's best Free primary education ,nine-year consistent schoolx funded by Korea, Japan and China ,and many church schools have increased Phnom Penh's education penetration. Demographic aspects.

Phnom Penh's population grew from over 100,000 to 2,000,000, but in the 1970s, Khmer Rouge captured Phnom Penh. Phnom Penh citizens were driven to the countryside by force. Phnom Penh, with a population of 2 million, became almost an empty city.

At present, Phnom Penh has a population of nearly 3 million people, including 1.5 million people from other provinces. This data is quite alarming, because Phnom Penh is the economic and commercial center of Cambodia. Every year, a large number of people from other provinces come to Phnom Penh to look for jobs. Fifty percent of the peasants left their homes and moved to Phnom Penh City, which made the population of Phnom Penh grow rapidly. Nearly seven adults are under 30 years old. It is predicted that the population of Phnom Penh City will increase to 4 million by 2030. Economic aspect.

Cambodia's  per capita income from the civil war and economic downturn in 1979 to the 1990s was only $300.

Over the past decade, Cambodia's GDP has grown by more than 7%, which will gradually increase Cambodian people's annual income. So by 2015, people's per capita income will increase to $1070, while the average income of Phnom Penh people will reach $10,900. According to China's average wage ranking, the average monthly wage of Qingdao, Shandong Province is 6057 yuan, and the average annual income of about $11,000 is basically equal to that of Phnom Penh. It can be seen that the average income of Phnom Penh people has increased substantially. This benign development makes Cambodia hope to become a middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.

Reasons for the Rapid Development of Phnom Penh.

The reason why Phnom Penh has developed so fast is that:

1 The open policy of the Cambodian government absorbs the advantsges and strengths of all contries, so that businessmen from all countries are willing to pour into Cambodia. Foreign exchange is unregulated ,and is denomintated in US dollars.Capital is free to enter and exit.

2 Two-year-old young students are generally highly educated, multilingual and easy to learn the advantages of other countries, which directly improves the quality and cultural level of the whole Cambodian peoplein a few years,as well as the young population stucture,and ensures rapid development for at least 10 years.

3 Political stability and vigorous efforts to promote economic development, Cambodia's political system and pursue foreign policy, so that the domestic political situation remains stable and social security is in good condition. The Cambodian government is very wise to pursue a policy of permanent neutrality and non-alignment, maintain friendly relations with most countries in the world and build a peaceful external environment conducive to development.
