Cambodia Compass report, 27th May - In a Facebook post last night, the Governor of Svay Rieng Province, Men Vibol, stated that his medical team had only sampled 108 workers at the A and J factory in Tai Seng Special Economic Zone, Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province. 54 of them tested positive for Covid-19 and were sent to the hospital right away.
“There was no purpose for the workers to be at the factory because their shift had attended, they had submitted for the exams, and there was no necessity for them to be there, and this is a common occurrence, not unusual,” the governor explained. The provincial government of Svay Rieng rejected a video claiming that officials had tested over 1,000 workers at a factory in Svay Rieng province and discovered approximately 60 positive Covid-19 personnel.
