Cambodia will build an additional 193-kilometer National Road 10, which connects Battambang province's Samlot district to Koh Kong province. The budget for the construction of the new national road is a concessional loan from China worth about 183 million US dollars.

Koh Kong, one of the four coastal provinces recently, seems to be booming over a number of large-scale investment projects, causing property prices in the province to start rising while National Road 10 is in the construction phase.

Heang Bonna, an official with the Koh Kong Provincial Department of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, said on November 26, 2020 that the development of the land sector is currently expanding alarmingly, while some business owners haven't prepare document according to law to request approval from department.

He said that the project was made and recognized only in the villages, communes, sangkats and cities, but nevertheless, the sale and purchase still went smoothly, no major disputes occurred. Investors expect land prices to double when the government inaugurates National Road Number 10 which connects from Battambang to Koh Kong.

The land-transaction movement in Cambodia's southwestern coastal province is gaining momentum. The factors that are driving the real estate sector to grow now depends on the population, and most have jobs and occupations, especially road infrastructure development projects, as well as large investment projects from local and foreign companies to this coastal area more and more.

This rapid growth has left Koh Kong short of rental housing for workers as the number of employed people has increased and most of them cannot afford to buy large-scale houses and land. The reception services are still limited and guesthouses and hotels are not yet able to cater to the needs of tourists during holidays .

Four coastal provinces, including Sihanoukville, Kampot, Koh Kong and Kep, have been recognized as land prices, which have risen steadily. Koh Kong province also expects land prices to rise sharply in the near future.
